Human VS Elephant

Human VS Elephant

Massive land clearing in the Riau (Sumatra, Indonesia) area has caused the forests –where Sumatran elephants live– change their function to become to become oil mining factory, infrastructure buildings, community gardens and settlements. The loss of elephant habitat causes elephants to enter residents’ territories, destroying plantations and even people’s homes. Conflict over living space ensued between residents and wild elephants. This living space conflict occurs almost every day, causing damages and loss of life between the both sides.
